the rise of didsbury gin!

Its really great to see a truly local and independent Didsbury venture take off, and this is clearly the case with Didsbury Gin.

Gin enthusiasts Liam Manton and Mark Smallwood took their inspiration for Didsbury Gin from the botanical gardens of Fletcher Moss & Parsonage, which were given to the village by Alderman Fletcher Moss.

From an initial experiment in the back room of Liams’s home, Didsbury Gin has now taken the drinks market by storm, with distribution in Harvey Nichols and Selfridges and praise from British Vogue, who recently hailed it ‘one of the most exciting new British gin brands’.Now hand-crafted in an eco-friendly copper in batches of 100 bottles, the flavours of the gin are inspired by the plants and flowers of the eponymous gardens, combining a blend of botanicals, fresh grapefruit, orange, lime and lemon peels, underpinned by British roots and aromas.

Didsbury Gin is a citrus take on a classic London Dry Gin.

They have plans to expand the brand in 2018, increasing the number of stockists and to grow in both the domestic and overseas market, and we wish them every success.

‘eddie fontana fundraiser’ – play at saison, west didsbury

Ares Productions are performing their first full length play ‘An evening with Eddie Fontana – Fundraiser’ at Saison, West Didsbury on 9th February at 7pm.

Eddie’s got one more shot at the big time with his extravaganza in March (hurray!). But Eddie is flat broke (shocker). So he’s throwing a party to raise some money to get some half-decent guests in, and he wants you to come!

We’re talking drinking, dancing, drinking, party games, stuff to win, drinking, maybe some doughnuts, alcohol, and more drinking! It’s going to be sensational (or, knowing Eddie, a total mess)!

Advance tickets purchased before the 9th February 2018 are £5.50 and include entry into the ‘Door Draw’ where you could land yourself a £30 bar tab to use on the night (not available to Eddie, much to his dismay).

Tickets purchased on the door are £6.50
