didsbury car show 2018

Calling all petrol heads, the Didsbury Car Show rolls into town next month and promises to be a fun fuelled day out for all the family to enjoy! A superb event in the Didsbury calendar, the car show was first held within the leafy settings of Didsbury Park in 2010 and returns in July for its ninth year running here in the village. This year’s theme is cars with character so we can expect to see interesting entries from vintage sports cars to modern day classics, with the event organisers making space to accommodate up to 300 cars. This is a great opportunity to get together with the family and enjoy an afternoon in the sunshine seeing some fantastic classic and vintage cars, monies raised at the event goes to the very worth while Oxfam UK Poverty Programme, helping local people. Schduled to begin at 11am on Sunday 8th July at Didsbury Park, registration for exhibitors is now open, for further details click; http://www.didsburycarshow.org.uk/

10th June – 17th June

The Northern Tennis & Squash Club

For seven days in summer, Didsbury goes tennis-mad when this world-class women’s tournament comes to The Northern. The Fuzion 100 Manchester Trophy is a world-class women’s tournament held at The Northern Lawn Tennis Club and has previously been voted Manchester’s event of the year.

The quality of the club’s grass courts have often found it referred to as ‘the Wimbledon of the North’, the title of a book written in 1981 to celebrate 100 years at The Northern.

Throughout its history, The Northern Lawn Tennis Club has held international tennis events, attracting players such as John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Stefan Edberg, Fred Perry, Jimmy Connors, Billie-Jean King, and Margaret Court.
