Today Tom and I went out to Northenden, an area only a few minutes from the heart of Didsbury, where the sales prices have not risen to the same heights as the central M20 postcodes, and where the rents mean a 5% return can be expected in most cases.

With standard 3 bed semi-detached houses being sold in the region of £250,000 to £300,000 the difference in pricing could be as much as £100,000 to £150,000.

As we enter the slower months of the sales market, and the end of the stamp duty holiday, there should be more opportunity to pick up a decent buy-to-let property, so why not make that property a Northenden based one?
